Hi! I'm Shree Khangaonkar!

I'm an aspiring Electrical Engineer with a passion for music and audio technology. I'm currently studying Electrical and Computer Engineering/Physics at the University of Southern California.

My work lives at the intersection of engineering, experimentation, and creativity. I’m especially drawn to projects that combine physical systems, embedded electronics, and human experience. I’ve led electronics integration for a 7-DOF autonomous robotic arm at Terra Labs, where I designed wiring and power distribution architecture, worked with a Teensy, Raspberry Pi, and CAN bus actuator network, and helped bring all seven actuators to controlled motion on a tight development timeline. I also conduct research at USC’s Bionic Ear Lab on cochlear implant signal processing, using psychophysical methods and neural measurements to study how electrical stimulation can improve pitch perception and speech comprehension.

Outside the lab, I build things that make engineering feel tangible. I’ve designed custom high-fidelity Bluetooth speakers from scratch, including enclosure modeling and analog crossover design, built and competed with a 1 lb battlebot, and created Experience Synesthesia, an interactive installation blending sound, light, and touch. I’ve also explored machine learning through a diffusion-based audio generator that achieved near state-of-the-art results while cutting training time by 84%. Whatever I’m working on, I’m motivated by building systems that are technically rigorous, thoughtfully designed, and memorable to experience.
